The Sabres visited a near empty BB&T center Saturday night with nothing but pride on the line.
The first period of hockey from Sunrise saw very little happen. This was probably the time that people switched to CBC for Leafs watch.
Robin Lehner was a bright spot in he otherwise drab 20 minutes. He was able to turn aside a great chance from Huberdeau and fended off a barrage of tough shots with six minutes to go.
Nick Bjugstad scored the first goal of the game with a weak shot that squeaked through Lehner in the 2nd period. This was an ugly one that Robin should’ve scooped off the ground.
Jonathan Huberdeau added another for Florida in the 2nd to put the Panthers up 2-0.
The Panthers added another at the start of the 3rd to continue the drubbing at 3-0.
This game was a microcosm of everything wrong with this season. The scoring woes were evident and shaky defense was there.
Buffalo ends their season tomorrow against the Lightning.
