The 2017 NHL All-Star Game rosters were announced today. With no John Scott this year the All-Star Game seems like it will head back to it’s stale self. To a lot of people, the All-Star game has lost any interest it once may have brought with last year being an exception.
No matter what people think of the new format and the weekend itself, it’s that time of year again where the NHL throws a player or player(s) from each team into a city to put on a show for the fans.
Last year, Ryan O’Reilly represented the Sabres in Nashville after leading the team in scoring to that point. This year, with 27 points (12g, 15a) in 28 games, Kyle Okposo will head to LA as the Sabres’ representitive. Okposo has had an impressive season in his first with Buffalo after signing for seven years on July 1st.
Okposo will join Auston Matthews, Brad Marchand, Vincent Trochek, Frans Nielsen, and Nikita Kucherov as the forwards for the Atlantic Division.
The 2017 All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, January 29th at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. The Skills Competition will take place on Saturday, January 28th.
